16u AS, Jordan Barnes, junior, catcher is beginning to grow into a new role as the leader of a young team looking to continue last season’s unprecedented success.
“Right now, you see me as a leader, but I feel that everyone has to get out of their comfort zone,” Barnes said. “I’m trying to be comfortable with being uncomfortable this year.”
Barnes is alluding to the fact that players need to take on new roles and try to improve all areas of their game in order to maximize their potential. But there is irony in that because Barnes has long made opposing pitchers uncomfortable, a feeling they are going to have to get used to.
